Monero is a shitcoin. No different than the others.
Crap. I have some AOL profile statuses from 1999 that I was hoping to import
Any b2b customer facing type gig would fall into this category probably
My brain and how I interact with apps totally 100% agrees with this. When you understand it, it's a better model.
But I do worry that the micro app concept is supremely confusing to *most* people. I worry if we only start with micro apps then we'll never capture the "normies".
I think there is a chance a meta-like app is important to initially capture those users, allow them to build up a social graph with something familiar, then introduce them micro apps. If you're a normie who first tries nostr with a micro app, the lightbulb moment is potentially less likely.
Ah maybe I'm overlooking the usecase... this isn't technically novel. BUT it's a super clever way to align incentives to "boost" the reach of note - which is important because we don't typically have curated feeds. I get it. It's cool. Ignore me
So wait... a prism just creates a new note with it's own zap split with the first 10 people to share the original note as the splits targets?... So it's just a bot that creates notes with zap splits?... I hate to be that guy, but I feel that you're all overreacting 🫣
$boost #prism
I’m excited to announce the launch of $prism.
Nostr is many things, but most importantly, I believe that Nostr is Bitcoin’s first layer three technology. Bitcoin solves money, Lightning solves payments and Nostr solves identity and coordination. Similar to the Bitcoin and Lightning protocols, the Nostr protocol is permissionless and decentralized.
Nostr solves identity using a simple public key that works across any client. Nostr solves coordination by directly connecting Lightning wallets without intermediaries via Nostr wallet connect (“NWC”) and Lightning address (or ideally a future Nostr native equivalent).
There will be many incredible bitcoin experiences built with Nostr. We are making prisms.
Lightning prisms without Nostr are hard to coordinate and execute. It requires figuring out each address, a way to coordinate payout amounts, and someone taking custody of the bitcoin for a period of time to manage payouts. So we’ve seen almost no one making prisms.
Now with Nostr, they are incredibly easy. Want to create a prism on Nostr right now? Type $boost into the text of your next post on any client and we’ll make a prism with the first 10 people that repost it. We’ll post the prism on nostr:npub12u7xgzak939jlap3fnev05eky6d4ntwr4lrs03kgnnfd9njmtvrsr9jjmt and you can zap it with any client that supports zap splits like Snort.social or Amethyst. Want to limit your prism to a smaller group of people? Create a listr on listr.lol like #friends and type $boost #friends. We’ll only create a prism with users that boost your post and are on your #friends list.
With NWC, payments all complete wallet to wallet, no intermediary necessary and we never touch your bitcoin. The possibilities are now endless for building new consumer experiences on top of Lightning and Bitcoin.
We started $prism to push forward the bitcoin experience on Nostr. We’ll be launching more prism products over the coming days. Follow nostr:npub1arcweuxy0zkdcg08sljh058qp02ytrgnpzh4csa3ar42szyfgrpsw6ggtw or go to https://makeprisms.com to learn more.
A special thanks to nostr:npub1ce7d8cdg8k49dnl3da34mvhah8kevxfsq2vdguq6trngapqfsdzsnv3d7m who has been an early thought partner and the first contributor to $prism and nostr:npub1s9etjgzjglwlaxdhsveq0qksxyh6xpdpn8ajh69ruetrug957r3qpklxzl who is our newest contributor.
Hey nostr:npub1dmcd5wqd3yku05svp6xqk5gyywek4cgg0w3dk63tcu0rmjxnanns5xutjm nostr:npub1ex7mdykw786qxvmtuls208uyxmn0hse95rfwsarvfde5yg6wy7jq6qvyt9 is the LN url service down? Seems my address djs21@strike.com is broken at the moment

Markets require trading. Definitely not immoral. Day trading is probably a bad idea for most people though.
If it's a business that's going to provide a return, I would imagine KYC initiatives are just way more common in general - especially in the markets that the VCs focus. They are still VCs, gotta make a return 🤷

This is such a mind-blowing example of how amazing open protocols are. So similar to hacker news, bootstrapped and already brimming with content.
