My thru hiking journey in France Only on Nostr No affiliation with any gear mentioned, just quality stuff that works.

Pretty treacherous terrain, loose dirt/gravel makes it super slippery. Broke one of my poles in a fall.

One of the best nights so far. Happy that I got the roof up. Got rain during the night despite a dry forecast.

The trail follows the Doubs river for two days, which makes the border between France and Switzerland. Having a break with a swim and cooling down a sore ankle/tibia.

Quality gear tips are always welcome.

Met other hikers, some on Hexatrek, others on GR5, and joined for a barbecue at a camp site.

Saw Pont Sarrazin, then followed the swiss border and finally reached the Doubs river.

Conecting Vosges with the Doubs meant four hours of ths, highway on one side and a dirty canal on the other. Pushed to get through as fast as possible.

Walked in to Thann and decided to rest.

Alsacian lunch with a glass of pinot noir, the only red wine producer in the region.

On a stretch with no resupplying for about 70k, finding these little spots are such a blessing. Refueled and dried up.
