Hey nostr, its been sooo windy today, and now we have this weird haze in the sky. I got alot of weeding and cleanup done in the beds this afternoon, then we went on our Gator ride with the pups. Lucy rides in the back and Daisy rides on my lap. I meant to go find some organic sweet potatoes at the store, but i forgot. Priming a wood panel for my next Big Art project- Big because I usually work on pieces 8” x 10” (20.3 cm x 25.4 cm) or smaller, and this panel is 16” x 20” (40.6 cm x 50.8 cm).

Using clear gesso. It will be a mixed media piece with lots of layers, but I’m curious how letting the wood show through will affect it compared to prepping with white gesso, which I’ve done before.

Gesso adds a bit of tooth so the paint/ink/etc. has a little more grip. Clear gesso goes on white then dries clear. I need to give it 24 hrs to dry, then I’ll stay playing. 😍

I’m using the hashtag #everydayflower for this piece if you want to follow the process. Goal is to finish by the end of the month. 🤞

Hey nostr, just sitting down after a busy but fun day. After church i worked outside most of the afternoon. It was sunny but very windy, and i got the beginnings of my first tan of the season. We moved the 2 baby chicks outside, into a raised hutch that sits behind the main chicken coop. That way they can hear the big chickens during the day. Anyway, yall have a good evening nostr friends.
