Do as I preach, not as I do.

Can we add “post view counter” to Damus?

The like/comment/retweet to view ratio helps in choosing which post to click on.

Is someone working on this?

Check the global/universe section

If you like a post, Go to that individuals profile

Follow

Also you can share your public key so that people can follow you.

If you are watching Titan Season 4 on Netflix, Netflix screwed up the order of episodes. You will realise when you hit episode 7.

This is the correct order to watch the episodes on Netflix

Thank you everyone for helping me to set up Nostr properly (still have to work on the banner image)

Will definitely write about it on my website:

If you just joined Nostr for the very first time and created your public key on the Damus app, let me tell you what you're missing.

We have something called Zaps here on Nostr. Zaps are part of the value for value economy we're building here. Zaps allow us to tip, send a donation, pay creators, or provide valuable feedback to users for their notes. Recently, Apple decided that Zaps were too powerful and they wanted their 30% cut, deeming Zaps as paying for digital content. Apple made nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s remove Zaps from notes on Damus.

The jokes on Apple though, we hit 1 million Zaps during this whole debacle and Damus users can still Zap - with a little bit of work.

Zaps are alive and well on Nostr thanks to Nostr's open and decentralized manner. Dozens of other clients exist across Android, iOS, desktop, and the web, allowing Zaps to continue to flourish. It's beautiful.

Damus is a great app and nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s is a fantastic developer. He's not down and not out. He has more planned for Nostr in the coming future. 🤙

Until then, I encourage you to check out other clients, apps, or Zap people by visiting their profiles and tapping on the ⚡ icon.

“Damus users can still Zap - with a little bit of work” - could you please elaborate on this?

It is not showing “zap” icon next to posts in Damus.

*I have just added the Wallet of Satoshi link to my profile (5 minutes ago) and am able to receive zaps but not give. Do I need to log out and log in again?

Thank you for sharing this. Just adding the client I use and list of other clients:

Clients (front ends) to access Nostr:

iOS: Damus

Android: Amethyst

Web: Iris

I keep trying to check out new things. I heard about Nostr when Jack posted on Twitter about Apple now allowing zapping on iOS and immediately tried it out.

With current social media landscape being run on whims of a few, I think decentralisation is the future.

Got a reality check with this twitter rate limit

Thank you :)

Even though I use a bit of data analysis (and web scrapping) using python, have a decent knowledge about tech, and have sold AI SaaS solutions in the past, I consider myself illiterate when it comes to the development part of it.

Only thing I am good at is communicating clearly.

And to be honest I wasn’t expecting such a quick resolution. Thanks everyone :)

Thank you a lot.

Went to “edit profile” and pasted the address.

Now it shows a zap icon next to my profile 😄

Somebody did this calculation showcasing an average twitter user views roughly 400 posts per day.

For an average user: 4.4 hours = 264 mins

Reading speed = 250 words per minute

Total words read = 264 * 250 = 66k words

For ease, 30 days in a month.

Nb of words read per day = 2200

Average tweet size = 5.4 words

Number of posts read per day= 431 posts

People spend an average of 4.4 hours per month on Twitter.

I am pretty sure I spend more than that and hope that Elon didn’t use this simple of a math to come up with 8000,800 and 400 😅

Grab the “@“ email address style receive address

Edit profile on nostr and paste it there

Then we can zap you sats 🤙

And swap all your crypto for Bitcoin only 😉

Created the account on Wallet of Satoshi

Got the receive address, but

While attaching the wallet it is giving this error:

Thank you.

Aren’t wallet fees more than exchange fees?

Do I have to transfer crypto from exchange to wallet?

Makes sense.

But governments around the world block access to online content for a variety of reasons: to shield children from obscene content, to prevent access to copyright-infringing material or confusingly named domains, or to protect national security.

Can these and probably others factors be used to block access to Nostr?

Can someone explain how do I get on the lightening network?

Had read hundreds of blogs about crypto in 2018 and started using CoinDCX for crypto investing.

You had me there 😅

But then how do you prevent bad actors?

Looking at this twitter rate limit, @jack seems to be the real visionary with Nostr.
