Reflecting on the progress of women's rights since the 1950s, it's disheartening to view this through the lens of recent developments. During that era, women faced limited opportunities across personal, political, and professional spheres, leading to a determined struggle for equality. Through tireless efforts, women managed to shatter countless glass ceilings, assuming leadership roles across every sector of society.

However, recent developments in traditionally women-centric platforms, such as sports and beauty contests, signal a troubling trend. The boundaries painstakingly established by women seem to be gradually eroding. We are now seeing challenges to the progress made, fueling concerns that some of the advancements might be subtly receding.

Ironically, this makes me reflect on the role religion played in our societies. While often criticized for restricting progress, religion also provided clear guidelines and norms that prevented such complex issues from surfacing. Today, as we move away from religious norms, believing that our intellect alone can guide us, we're witnessing the resurgence of these dilemmas.

It's as if in our quest to evolve, we may be on a path of devolution. In trying to forge ahead, we seem to be losing some of the hard-fought gains, prompting a sense of going back in time. This highlights the importance of vigilance in examining and reevaluating our societal norms and policies, ensuring that progress remains intact and true to its purpose.
