This is why I wear a #cycling helmet. And this is why I ❤️ the NHS.

I’m ok, I think, but have fractures to 5 vertebrae. Take it easy out there!

I've shared this before but anyway, I used park my van on a quiet village street quite legally, and start and finish the day with a nice 15-20km ride into my office in #Oxford alongside the river. I returned one evening to find not one but two notes stuffed under the windscreen wipers … #cycling #activeTravel

Want to buy some rechargeable lithium batteries for a GPS unit, but all the brand names just seem to be anagrams of Will Burn Your House Down.

I mean #FFS, this one even has the flames.

Love this photo btw.

There was most definitely a final straw involved in the making of this sign.

Up one side. Down the other. #cycling #gravel #cyclocross

15 years ago today i wrote this pithy 60-word news piece:

which was the first bit of content to ever go live on road.cc. It's had its ups and downs, but it's still better than having a real job :-) #cycling #BikeTooter

All the talk of the #supermoon of late has left me with this bloody thing as an #earworm

I can see a new horizon

Underneath the blazin' sky

I'll be where the eagle's flyin'

Higher and higher

Gonna be your man in motion

All I need's this pair of wheels

Take me where the future's lyin' …

nostr:npub1s5a4d5tt0jr4j9z4dz7nf0erephvwwkg7fafj96s53ermml3j3nqxe4m9c I'd search on 'reflective vest' in English.

As a related aside, hearing a German native-speaking friend pronounce 'weighted vest' was one of my favourite things ever.

12 years. Your occasional reminder that if you want to kill a cyclist then using your car as a weapon is a pretty good way to lessen your chances of an overly long sentence if you get caught.

"A drink-driver who killed a charity cyclist then hid his body in a shallow grave on a remote Scottish estate has been sentenced to 12 years in prison."

And still at it today under some nice looking #clouds

Learned today of the #Lancashire Witches Walk having ridden past no. 7 of its 10 waymarkers. It commemorates the 400th (in 2013) anniversary of the Pendle #Witch Trials and each post has a tercet from a poem by Carol Ann Duffy on top. (The full poem is in the alt text for better legibility).

Left it late before heading out and managed to avoid the showers. #cycling
