Now if you really want to be hard core, consider not using the internet to get your bitcoin data…blockstream satellite feed(s) are likely available at your point on the globe. Set up a dish, LNB, receiver, and some software and you can privately keep your node synced with the tip of the blockchain (or download entire history since Genesis). Still need internet or other means to relay your ~250 bit transaction though.

At one point I used the service to download bitcoin core and user messages. There at least once was and may still be lightning gossip relay too.
