It seems like there’s gotta be a potential solution though. Isn’t this where smart contracts are supposed to come in?
Like you could have a group of people that all have keys. Anyone with a key can write a proposal for what to do with some of the bitcoin. The logic is encoded in a smart contract. Then voting happens among key holders, and the wining vote leads to one smart contract being executed over another.
Or something like that?

It sucked that someone like Sylvio Micali backed it, he’s done great theoretical work in cryptography and people trusted him for that.
It has some cool tech ideas behind it so I understand how people who don’t understand Bitcoin vs everything else can get attracted to it, but obviously it’s a shitcoin compared to Bitcoin once you start to look into. It’s very hard to run a node, and there was a massive pre-mine.

Since #nostr is really an entire ecosystem beyond a phone app, is it the worst thing if damus is notes only without #zaps? People would still see others talking about #zapping, they could #zap from other clients on other devices, etc
I love #zaps but #nostr is much more that that. I would still use #damus in notes only mode
