You mute someone in Damus and they’re just kind of gone unless someone reposts them or they’re tagged in a thread with you. And there’s no way of knowing who muted you or who else is muted without looking it up on listr or something, or you just notice they’re not interacting with you any more and put 2 and 2 together. Maybe once lists are better supported in Damus that will become a thing. The transparency of seeing who someone else has muted is an interesting dynamic m. I think some people are making assumptions about what it means that aren’t always accurate.

Maybe we need to spin up a cool kids club alternative for people the popular Nostriches don't want to hear from? Call it the Mutestr Report. Stuff that happens on the dirty underbelly of the protocol, lives of the unwashed masses.

Without better in-app options for filtering our feeds, if you post and reply a lot (and some of you post and reply a LOT…heard of DMs?) there’s a good chance I’ve muted or even unfollowed you at one time or another to keep my feed manageable. And there’s a chance I forget to unmute or refollow. If it matters that much to you, say hello and I’ll likely unmute and follow back. There’s also a chance you’re insufferable and annoying, but then there’s also a chance I am so idk what to tell you. We’re a bunch of people trying to get along, and people get on each others nerves sometimes. 🤷‍♂️😂💜

I will continue to support damus iOS for the forseeable future, but to do things such as zapraisers and zap-to-unlock, i will need a different platform to build on. This is why I started an alternative, cross-platform client back in december that works on linux+mac desktop, android and web. This should also be the fastest client, it uses rust and low level graphics apis.

Building a client like like this is much more difficult, but will be worth it in the long run. Damus iOS will continue to be where I spend most of my time, and we plan on making it the best iOS onboarding experience for nostr, but if we’re going to build a new circular economy for bitcoin in cyberspace, the apple appstore isn’t the place for this.

So is there a way to login to Primal on iPhone? I’m still getting use to Primal, would probably be my go to if Damus gets nuked. 🤙🏻
