I can access the Podnews Mastodon (over at masto host) but I can’t actually press the send button over there, so I assume it’s a Cloudflare issue. This is what I was going to post.
Hello! Cloudflare has fallen over, which is currently impacting the Podnews Daily podcast, and the Podnews Weekly Review podcast.
By “impacting”, we mean “broken”.
All other things are working just fine though, because we use the other thing, you know, the one that fell over a few weeks ago, that one.

I was following one noisy window-rattler recently, and it irritated me enough to take a note of the rego and the details.
Turns out I’m flying via Doha.
Entirely unrelatedly, I’m enjoying not following the mainstream news. I stopped a few weeks ago. Quite blissful not knowing what’s going on. I’m sure that’s not going to be an issue.
Was supposed to be flying to London tomorrow; but Qantas cancelled the flight after a mechanical issue. Rebooking was relatively painless (could have been smoother though); and I’m still flying to London tomorrow (with a different airline) - and I get another 12 hours at home! #travel #qantas

The full show is 1:47:45, but after Buzzsprout takes the filler words out, it's 1:42:21! Yikes.
It is supposed to link here, I think: https://www.bbc.com/audio

The article is explicit in saying that BBC podcasts will remain available in podcast apps. All of them are available in that way. No cause for alarm.
Slightly oddly, "Audio" doesn't actually yet exist on the BBC.com website - well, it does, but it just links through to BBC Sounds. So perhaps this announcement has been made early.
Well, well. Back in November, I suggested that the BBC might close its BBC Sounds app for non-UK listeners - and also that "we'll also - by and large - lose access to the BBC's domestic radio stations"...

Today, the BBC posts something (on its non-UK site) saying just that. BBC music radio stations won't be available on the BBC internationally, and BBC Sounds data won't be transferred over. Images of this page here, since I think it's a section of the BBC website that isn't available within the UK.

Can you use AWS's Amazon SES to send a mailing list all by itself?
It's got contact list management, templates for email, automated unsubscribe/bounce handling, and open rate measurement, and clicktracking. So you'd think... yay!
Except, no.

Dynamic ad insertion in podcasts - visualised. The yellow bits are the ads.
On the top, a podcast episode downloaded in Australia.
On the bottom, the same podcast episode downloaded in the US (via a VPN).

At last, a front page story on BBC News about Mastodon!
Brilliant!
Oh. I mean “a front page story on BBC News about a mastodon”.
I cancelled our home insurance yesterday (switching to a different company).
Online, I had to cancel it by speaking to a cartoon orange.
Interesting to discover Openvibe, an app which merges your Threads, BlueSky and fediverse/Mastodon accounts together. It seems to let me follow all three at the same time (and post to all three, too).
When in Canada…

Put my bike in the garage. Discovered this little fella having a snooze. Gave him some carrot and a raspberry. #brisbane
