Is anyone using blockstacks? Here is my owl link: https://owl.link/fblauer.btc
I agree. Will be interesting to see how it plays out
Speaking of opensource, why not develop client apps like Damus on opensource platforms instead of proprietary ones like Apple/Mac. which is as closed/proprietary/centralized as you can get? Seems to me opensource web clients should have priority, then Linux desktop clients if Nostr really had an opensource ethos.
And do you think that mainstream users will know how to mange their key pairs?
Seems to me nostr has a long way to go to replace twitter. For example, I lose my social graph when I test a new client if the relays are different. Do you think mainstream users will know how to track and manage their relays?
What are the checks and balances? BTW - Exchanges could be decentralized.
You are right. I just checked
I thought that github was opensource. I could be wrong but I thought that it was originally developed by linux Torvalds? I'll check
Is there any plan for decentralized governance in the future? Who makes the decisions that effect everyone? Or does everyone do their own thing? Seems to me there advantages and disadvantages.
They need it the most. Zimbawe has really high inflation. I think south/central america will be next. They already started in El salvador
Is the governance decentralized? Who makes the decisions? How does that work?
Bitcoin and Nostr are really opening peoples eyes to the beauty of fully open source software, FOSS.
There are thousands of projects on github which are opensource.
That is what makes it "trustless" since it could be audited by anyone. Opensource doesn't have to be free, depending on the license.
I got a message from Bluesky saying that they will be sending out invitations from the waiting list. Any idea how it will compare to Nostr? Apparently, it won't be permission-less if you need an invite?
Is it possible that the relays will change if I use the same client? I guess I will stick to the same client for now. But it makes it hard to evaluate new clients.
Is this a permanent situation? Doesn't seem very practical to me?
I also lose my social graph when i change app clients. Seems to be something to do with different relays. Is this a known problem that is going to be dealt with?
