I really upset a family member this morning because I said that I thought it was a good thing that criminals phones that had been confiscated by the police were automatically locking themselves into encryption to make it harder for the police.

A perfect illustration of this is the United States' confiscation of gold. It was extremely easy to confiscate gold from citizens who held their gold in bank vaults, etc. because there are a lot fewer banks than there are citizens. It would have been extremely expensive to go door to door, house to house and take people's gold from them. So they chose to go to the several thousand banks because it was much much easier.
Something tells me that anybody who's going to atomic swap their Monero for Bitcoin is going to be asking for a higher price because of the high likelihood of getting tainted coins. Personally, I never want to swap my Monero for Bitcoin. Thankfully, I only have one bill where I currently have to, and thanks to #XMRBazaar, that may be going away as well.
