Yeah. In principle it can be used as a hedge against inflation, but again we've see in reality it is too volatile to actually be a reliable way to store value.

I've talked to people who are big into it and a lot of it comes out of fear of inflation and getting screwed over by the economic system. With how often the economy shits the bed and then our government uses our tax dollars to bail out everyone but the innocent average mad, it's an understandable fear.

Problem is that bitcoin is just as easy to jew over as anything else.
