I can actually see it becoming the way Westerners and Russians exchange money given the current political situation, but I don't see any nation trusting their financial future in Bitcoin given how volatile it is. Especially since it's not been tested against large scale manipulation by a hostile foreign power.

Tbh centralization is almost always superior to decentralization if you can have decent ppl running it.

Problem is we just don't have that, like in any capacity. The best the fedi had was a few admins who weren't on good terms with the shitbags who run most instances, but it looks like free tech support won the hearts of everyone but kroner.

But yeah, every fedi admin who talks about the strength of the network and all that doesn't actually give a shit. Graf is the biggest advocate for it and also the worst abuser of defederation. It's a way for him to virtue signal and nothing else.

It's probably the same thing here too tbh. We've seen it already with them blocking all of NCD and bot being reported as spam, the moment people start saying things libertarians don't believe will be the moment they start trying to censor them in some way.
