You have to be aware of these points all of the time.
1. This world is a dream, just like the dream I dream at night.
Everything in this world is karmic. Nothing is real. So I will never again allow this world to dictate to me what is right, what is wrong, what is good, what is bad.
2. My nature is divine. I am not the body nor this world nor have I got anything to do with this world or this body. The body goes through its own karma, it takes care of itself, does whatever it's supposed to do. It has absolutely nothing to do with me.
3. Everything I observe in this world is myself, nothing else. I only see myself wherever I look. Whatever I'm involved in. I see myself and nothing else.
4. In order to transcend this world and become totally free, I have to somehow awaken from this mortal dream. And I can only do this by becoming non-judgmental, peaceful within myself, looking at this world like a moving picture, in all kinds of scenes in a movie. I know I'm not affected by these things, by the things of this world or any other world.
5. I-am the substratum of all existence. I-am the screen in which the movie is being shown. I-am the director and producer of the movie. I-am also the actor. I play all of the parts. Therefore I will never again become confused in the picture or the screen. You should ponder these things every morning when you get out of bed, when you first wake up. Become aware of this.

Total surrender to God means to surrender to yourself, to give up all your desires, all your needs, all your wants, all your questions, and just say, "Thy will be done." That's it, and let yourself or God take care of everything. Have no anxious thought about anything. And if you really totally surrender to God you'll be okay. You'll be taken care of.

Look, you make young boys wear the sacred thread, but nowadays the boys are throwing it away. If someone complains to me of it, I say, they have done the right thing. You take so much trouble to impart education to young boys and girls, to make them learn lucrative skills, you adopt so many methods to get them educated; but what is the importance of the sacred thread, why people do sandhya, puja etc., what is the harm if these are not done, about such matters you teach them nothing; that is why they cast them aside as useless. Hence, the fault is not only theirs; you are also guilty."
The same gentleman said again, "Well, Ma, this you have said about children; now do tell us something for ourselves."
Then Ma said, "You Babajis are now nearing the age of retiring with a pension. Verily, you desire uninterrupted joy; just as in the hope of getting a pension you have been working uninterruptedly in your office, similarly, try to take His name uninterruptedly with each and every breath you take. Only then you will get that permanent peace which all crave for.
Therefore, I say, keep your attention turned towards Him. Go on doing your work with full force - you will also get a full reward then.
In the beginning, one has to start practicing little by little like children; even if one feels no inclination, one should practice. After that, when gradually one develops a habit of doing the practice, one cannot give it up any more. In this way, go on practicing, each one of you, the japa of your ista mantra in rythm of your each breath."
