Czech authors have published an investigative nonāfiction book, ZmizenĆ Satoshi Nakamota (The Disappearance of Satoshi Nakamoto), which purports to trace the life and final traces of the pseudonymous creator of bitcoin. The book, released in Czech and planned for publication in Europe and the U.S., is based on notes the authors say they obtained and reconstructs Nakamotoās life from student years to his 2011 disappearance. It notes that the creator first published a description of the cryptocurrency in 2002, launched the first network in January 2009 and went silent in 2011. #SatoshiNakamoto #Bitcoin
The work is presented as a literary treatment grounded in claimed factual material. Writers Josef Habas Urban, physiotherapist and academic Pavel KolĆ”Å, and film producer Ivo KrĆ”tký say the manuscript draws on Nakamotoās alleged personal notes and describes episodes including a childhood traffic accident that killed his parents, later anonymity during bitcoinās creation, and an eventual stay in a psychiatric hospital. The authors also recount an incident on 26 April 2011 in a Birmingham pub, where an unknown man reportedly paid a tab in bitcoin ā an episode they say precipitated Nakamotoās disappearance.
The bookās release is already attracting attention and the authors plan a film adaptation. "It really all happened as the book describes, even though it's a literary treatment," says Josef Habas Urban. Pavol Stick RusnĆ”k, who wrote the foreword, said the book "contains many historical details that make the story authentic" and called it the first literary work to portray Satoshi as a person with a lasting technological legacy. One early reviewer added: "Whether you accept the book's conclusions or not, the evidence the authors present may rewrite the history of bitcoin." #crypto #FiatNews
