It was a sad day when my vcr that I got when I was like 12 finally stopped working and I let my kid take it apart.
"I watched this movie so many times because I had it on a tape" will be very quickly dying out as time goes on.
Watching "So I married an axe murderer" again tonight.
Per-seat pricing just means that everyone sits on everyone else's lap.
I love when a problem eludes you but after you sleep on it, you spot the problem instantly.
I was checking that the user id matched the provided id AND null. (hence the 0 records returned)
Nothing is worse than having to migrate the code you know you'll be deleting soon.
Pro: You boil all of your query generation code down into an elegant DSL that makes it easy to define complex queries across your data.
Con: You now have a whole bunch of complex queries across your data that you're going to need to figure out and write.
I'm launching a wallet recovery service. Send me your seed phrase.
entity relation models, but the database is all essentially just triples. I've been debating just doing it up in graphviz real quick, but I wanted more control over how I arrange things.
On to the next blunder!
Can anyone recommend a good diagram app? I'm trying to quickly diagram some of the relationships between the models in my app and I couldn't figure out how to make LibreOffice Draw just give me a huge canvas and Lucid cut me off when I tried to use too many shapes.
I started off doing 23, then I dropped it to the standard 21. Finally when 1-tapping became a thing, it dropped to only 10. (but I make up for it in volume)
Sitting at a dentist office where the Sept 2022 issue of Fortune magazine is sitting on top. What do you think, could this Sam Bankman-Fried be the next Warren Buffet.
A good comparison I once heard is that it's like working out. There are plenty of good ways to have a barbell lifted a bit, that's not the point. The point is conditioning you to be able to do things. The actual information is not important, training your mind to learn and retain information when needed is.
Happy "Dudes driving around to all the stores with their kids" Day.
It's always DNS.
I love when you're able to replace a whole bunch of repeated code with a handful of helper functions and a simple config map for each model.
On the list of things that kill productivity, having to put on your shoes and drive a kid to a thing is right up there.
DigitalOcean was having trouble processing my card and since I had powered down all my droplets, I didn't think to fix it until they suddenly canceled all of my services last weekend. I tried to sign back in, but I wasn't getting their sign in email. "When DO cancels you, they REALLY cancel you" I thought and proceeded to move my DNS settings (the one thing I was still using them for) to another provider.
It wasn't until today when I was trying to figure out why a different service wasn't sending me email did I realize that I forgot to configure my MX records.
If you tried to email the past week... don't try to get a hold of me that way, but it should work again.
Tried to send some money to my kid's Nintendo account so they could get games, but it wouldn't accept any of my cards. Ended up just going to The Bitcoin Company and ended up getting more sats back paying with Bitcoin than I would've with Fold.
