They did not have the multi lane expressway they have now, just a 2-lane highway. I got stuck several times trying to pass a durian deliver truck. God help you if you got stuck. One of the worst forms of torture, and almost certainly one of the reasons why that highway had so many accidents. Risking hell seemed better than getting stuck behind one of those trucks.
