It’s not building wealth I have a hard time with.. it’s the marketing part of it I struggle with.. I’m extremely good at it naturally I think.. but just the recruitment of sorts.. it’s gone overkill and I see it for what it is.. and it just puts a blanket of disgust on the entire thing.. which is not balanced either..

For many years I wore poverty as a badge of honor and a large portion of the Canadian identity centers on not being selfish but if it helps and if you feel like your place on this earth is to help people the way to help the most people the quickest is by building your wealth. The sooner a person realizes they are worth than they believe the sooner that person starts becoming the person they were born to be. It didn’t happen over night for me but it happens with time. I’m still finding the balance of promoting what I have to market and not wanting to *only* promote what I have to market. Each “platform” seems to have its only feel. Nostr is the first place I have felt comfortable because of the value for value backbone of it

Marketing here (US) most certainly seems to be based around either cult-like behavior (marketing around an individual) or ego (marketing a status symbol).

You've made an interesting realization. I think perhaps I'll look at things through this lens myself for a while, and see what makes sense viewed this way, and what doesn't.
