on #notedeck I've been working on image obfuscation lately. Now instead of just taking up blank space, a shimmering effect will appear (and a blur, if available). Also, media from users that you don't follow will be obfuscated (blurred, if available) by default.

#notedeck now has initial or basic zap support via NWC. the first iteration is hardcoded to 10 sats per zap. notedeck doesn't have likes, so having this as the default and only reaction is a great start for #value4value. i look forward to having this expanded upon and enhanced in the future. great work nostr:npub1fgz3pungsr2quse0fpjuk4c5m8fuyqx2d6a3ddqc4ek92h6hf9ns0mjeck

switching to my laptop to use #notedeck today since my destop is dead and im immediately wanting my columns to be events that are shared to my home relays so that i can pull down my configuration and load it here :( someday this will be a reality.

it's been a couple years but it's gonna be nice to do zap stuff again on mobile. every notedeck feature is also a damus Android feature, so out of the box it will be just as fast as notedeck, have local search, tagging, works offline. need to tweak the UI a bit before alpha release, stay tuned

They provide a super seamless alternative to Google photos and iCloud with e2e encryption and have a very simple monetization scheme. id love to hear a deep dive into their numbers and a bit of a backstory from the business side of things on how they got to where they are today

another freedom tech company that piques my interest is FUTO, specifically with their grayjay app. it is an open source media client that aggregates many different sources of media into one place. Their monetization model is interesting, they sell licenses to their completely free app, so it's completely optional. I'm interested in how effective that model has been for them

i am honestly really excited about doing this with Notedeck in the future. content currators can build entire nostr experiences and then make their decks available for all.

Notedeck could even surface popular decks and include #deckpics during the on-boarding process cc @rob (oh now i can't tag on notedeck at he moment.)
