I believe that NIP is to enable the zap button to like the like button and zap people or get zapped sats same as a like. Shows how many times you have been zapped the way it shows likes

Real quick, micropayment style, cool little bonus to the endorphins, better than just a like.

I have Wallet of Satoshi set up so I don't think I can receive a zap yet till they update. But I can still receive payment through my profile.

Zaps are just a little cool. And sort of tallies your clout right under your note.

😅 The zap amount can be changed in your Damus app settings right underneath where you set your default wallet. It defaults to 1000 😂 but you can change it to whatever you want.
