Olympic games seems to consume a lot of energy with all the athlete accom construction, opening parades, road building, stadium construction, international flights, hotels influx and more. After the games all that infrastructure largely sits barely used (although some is successfully repurposed).
So why isn't anyone talking about that wasted energy in terms of climate change?

The polar regions are some of the closest observed parts of the planet one reason being their direct impact on sea level rise. There is so much equipment trained on these areas it's insane.
