This thread has some promising ideas in it. I think this is what I am envisioning and people are already working on these sorts of solutions.

I hear you but the difference is that there can be multiple relays that focus on the same niche so censorship cannot happen in the same capacity. Deplatforming can’t really happen at all since relays have to compete with each other and Nostr is a protocol not a platform.

Also, relays can omit mentions of shitcoins and NFTs like you mentioned in your original post.

…and despite the woke title, Check Your Financial Privilege was good.

Perfect.

Send me your address and I’ll send 24 stainless steel washers over asap.

That’s apples to oranges.

Imagine both apps show the same content. Imagine that 10 million users on signal and 10 million users on What’s App means that there are 20 million users on both apps.

There are more browsers and social media apps than there have ever been.

It’s my understanding that relays can filter out content they don’t want and choose not to relay it.

I thought a relay can choose to not relay content from say Dogecoin websites while allowing content from Bitcoin Magazine and it begins to resemble a bitcoin subreddit.

I’ll have to go further down that rabbit hole but I think that niche relays will emerge to serve specific communities.

On the contrary.

Every new user that gets added on every app is also on all of the others.

Nostr literally flips social media upside down. Apps now come to us and our key pairs. We don’t go to them.

I think relays will become the new subreddits and will compete for the most desirable combination of all of these things depending on your interests and priorities.

If a relay censors and de platforms, people will move to other relays that don’t. The free market incentives of relays will be incredible.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

Do you have any suggestions?

It’s terrible.

It’s from a professor at some woke university or something.

A lot of what he says is totally accurate about bitcoin but his underlying thesis is that bitcoin is bad because it’s right-wing extremism.

Is it possible to make it a completely non-custodial wallet like Phoenix and Muun where sats can be sent and received both on-chain and on lightning?

I’d prefer to be able to onboard new users to Zeus instead of those or WoS.
