So, apparently the new generation is called “alpha”. Are we just arbitrarily naming generations based on what’s cool?

The greatest generation, well, they were.

Boomers, named because of the baby boom.

Gen X, I’ve heard they had no idea what to call my generation so the X was supposed to be generic.

Millennials, close the the millennium change.

Zoomers, because some genius decided to arbitrarily use the alphabet because it was used for Gen X. By that logic, the millennials are supposed to be Gen Y, even though that’s not what they’re called and X is the next letter.

Now we are out of letters and we’re moving to the Greek alphabet. Sorry, but I’m not using that dumb shit. Instead, I’ll refer to them by their most glaring attribute which is why this generation shall be known as Generation Confused…

Value for value has got to be one of the dumbest, trendy phrases that I have ever heard of and just another way for people to treat other people like they’re idiots and justify being paid for something that should be free.

I suppose this is the logic that certain developers use to hold beta apps hostage behind the gates of TestFlight, pathetic.

For me, V4V is the developer version of YouTubers asking people to like and subscribe to something before they have even seen anything.

I can certainly appreciate the utility of this product, the exceptional customer service and the noob friendly nature, which is why I had to give it a try. However, it’s possible that it may not be the right fit for me at this time.

Nothing that you have done, but I just don’t know if/when I would ever be able to use your service as it is meant to be used since most of my funds would be going towards bitcoin(savings). I would keep the minimal I could on lightning, just to have some to zap and keep the channel open, at least for now, til I get a healthy stack. Which seems the complete opposite of what you’re offering. I am sure by the time my sats get that stacked, lightning will have become the default currency anyways. 😝

That’s gonna be your best bet if you want to reduce any possible problems you may run into, especially if you’re just starting, and the pixel is obviously the best device to use due to minimal changes to the OS.

It’s hard to know what you’re doing wrong if you’re not really sure what you’re doing right, haha.

This is coming from someone who was heavily invested in the custom rom scene, when there was one, before google screwed the pooch by removing the dedicated recovery partition. You can’t really flash on the fly if you need to be tethered to a PC.

That, compiled with a lot of good developers leaving the game, namely DU, which did most of the heavy lifting when it came to a new OS bring up. GZR lost a maintainer and I lost a friend, that did most of the heavy lifting for roms that used GZOSP as their base. These days, they’re all cookie cutter. Of course it has been a couple years since I even bothered to see what was on XDA, so may be someone came along to pick up the slack, but I haven’t heard anything.

TL;DR The fewer the variables, the better, lol.

I’m in the same boat, taking baby steps.

In regards to what will run on what, almost always, the best case scenario is to run software meant for the masses, on your stock os.

Hell, it doesn’t even have to be used for anything other than this, so buy a cheap, unaltered device and start your journey there.

Running roms like graphene or any other custom rom, you are bound to run into limitations on what you can typically do on one, trade offs.

On a side note, graphene screams security and hardening, blah blah blah, but at the end of the day, leaves you wide open via the OEM unlock switch.

While graphene may be very dependable, if something happens, your device becomes soft bricked and you need to return to stock and that switch is off, your screwed.

You can try and flash an OTA, but there’s no guarantee that will work. Which is why you’re just better off leaving that switch enabled.

Unless security has drastically changed in the past few devices, that will always be their weak link.

Two questions for the folks at @alby. What is the purpose of the savings account? Will there be a connection to a hardware wallet in the future?

It’s my understanding that you want to keep your savings off of an exchange and when possible, on something tangible like a onekey, ledger, jade, etc.

So, that would be appealing if that sort of functionality were added so that I don’t need to use a completely different wallet.

As it stands, I have decided on using onekey since they have several different levels to start at. In my current circumstances dropping a couple bills on a product from a company I know nothing about, isn’t an option. Their app seems to have most of the functions I need. It has a lightning option as well but I obviously won’t need that if I have y’all. That would solely be used for purchasing and stacking to the heavens.😁
