First sap collection of the maple sugaring season. Collected 50gal off 32 taps. First taps went in a week ago, added more throughout the week. Looking to get around a gallon of syrup from this collection. I also got to test out the new collection skid I made so we can use our 2 haflinger draft horses to collect the sap instead of the tractor. I think it will work just fine.
If the state can force you to pay who really owns it? I can imagine defensive structures built around cooperation via reputational incentives. Verifiable persistent reputation via identity keys on Bitcoin might enable something like this.

Started getting eggs again earlier than normal this winter. Typically it's mid March. The chicken's egg production looks like it's going to ramp up just in time to fill up our new incubator. Thought we were going to have to get eggs from friends so we could hatch chicks by april. Been trying to grow the flock passively but no chicks last season so incubator it is.
Basically, an environment where price stays low and fees go up because outsiders are focused on fiat gains.
If the nft transactions outbid the financial ones, especially if it becomes common to pay fees in oob transactions to do the inscriptions and they are sold for dollars instead of Bitcoin. I don't think it's likely and if it happens probably won't last long but some folks already seem to be very adamantly opposed to inscriptions. If fees go way up opposition might grow large quickly and lead to irrational behavior. Mania
Been building a 20ft tiny house piece by piece over the last 6 years. It's that time of the year to get back to work on it. Currently finishing the staircase/ladder/closet/storage selves up the loft. Reclaimed rough sawn ash from the neighbors rejects. Tung oil finish.
I agree, the there is still a small wonder in the back of my mind if an nft pump and dump mania ensues is there a possibility for another chain split? If that happens what's the best strategy? Hold on to both stacks until the dust settles? What did most do in the BCH fork? Dump one or the other right away?
Maple syrup! 21 taps in so far, 14 the first day and 7 the next. I expect a quart of sap per tap and I'll have to burn one 20lb tank of propane to get 2gal of finished syrup. I'll probably do the first sap collection in a few days.
Another opportunity to supplement my electric heat with a couple S9s. Wanted to see how long it would take to get the house up to temp. Was only able to run them alone for a few hours. 49-53 but outside temp was 29-35. Hard to tell if the miners helped vs outdoor temps rising.
I don't understand, if torrents have persisted, isn't this just suggesting that witness data has high persistence as well? How is the IBD generated? From the closest peers? What would cause witness to disappear?
Maple sugaring season is here! We make enough syrup to use as our sugar and have plenty more to sell. 14/60 taps in so far. Shooting for 15gal of syrup this year. Takes ~50gal of sap to make one gallon of syrup. Sap is collected, concentrated with reverse osmosis filter, then finished with propane. One 20lb canister of propane finishes around 2gal of syrup. Sugar from trees! I love our sugar bush!
