Good morning, fellow fools. I love you all.

I’ve heard great things about this show. Cool how there are more shows and movies about therapy. I’ve also been meaning to watch Stutz, a movie that reminds me of this show.

“Comedy is simply a funny way of being serious” (Peter Ustinov).

So much respect for comedy and comedians, especially these days. Anyone recommend any comedy these days?

Waiting patiently for more diversity of thought on Nostr.

There’s only so much Bitcoin dogma I can stomach before an allergy forms and I end up playing devil’s advocate or trolling :)

Watched #MH370 documentary – I don't know if ppl lived, plane crashed, hijacked by the Russians, blown by the US, or it was the captain’s suicide mission. I do know we didn’t do enough.

Some thoughts on the theories :

1. Was Malaysia conspiring with Russia? Don’t know. But I was surprised that during MH 17, the M’sian gov’t at that time wasn’t angry. The people were furious though. Only the Dutch gov’t took it up with Russia

2. Was M’sia conspiring with the US ? Don’t know either. Unfortunately the only prime minister el dictator who kept us away from IMF, protected sovereignty and was not afraid of US was Mahathir. Anwar is still new and 🤞

3. What’s up with South China Sea / Straits of Malacca

Historically, and till today, this is one of the most used and important path for trade. One reason why Malaysia was one of the most invaded country in the world. The sea borders has always been controversial between China, Indonesia and Malaysia.

In 2021, 16 Chinese PLA aircraft entered the Malaysian airspace without permission causing the Royal Malaysian Air Force to put all Hawk 208 fighter aircraft on alert, and launched 2. The Chinese gov’t said it was a mistake and all was forgiven. This wasn’t the first time.

4. Is US interested in our Ports ? Of course. Remember TPP ?

Here’s the thing though - SEA has always been intermediary for all these countries - so even if the big giants fight with each other - trade still happens - via SEA channels. We are the Switzerland of trade

5. Were the lithium batteries that were transported highly suspicious ?

In the documentary, there were 2+ tonne lithium batteries transported, not scanned, escorted. Is this odd ?

I don’t think so. It probably didn’t go though a machine scanner because of its size, loose SOP. As for escorted, lots of stuff are escorted ie Intel chips from port to destination. It’s a common sight here

6. AWACS - is this mysterious ?

Yes. Airspace is pretty tight. The documentary did not say if it’s permissible for military plane to be flying around etc. We don’t have enough information on this. But super weird that military plane was chilling out on air

7. Did the flight turn from South China Sea to Butterworth ?

I think it did. Malaysia does not have the capacity to cook up story and change data at such a short time frame

8. Was the captain guilty ?

I’m more interested in why everyone was trying to shift the blame to him. Normally people would assume the hijackers first. What influenced people to think it was the captain? Or who?

9. Does Malaysian Airlines have the capabilities of reading data from captain’s home simulator ?

Yes. From my brief stint consulting Malaysian airline engineers, their black box and simulator, they are pretty capable (though they let me fly a simulator, and I can’t land the damn thing :) )

10. On FBI finding data a few years later

wait a minute - why wait for a few years ? And why keep it a secret for another 2 years ? FBI needs to answer this

Given Malaysia is pushing for open source, this would be a good time to open up MH 370 data and setup high bounty for hard evidences.

Ps : #[0], I remember

you were talking abt this - here’s a local’s take!

Do you recommend it?

I hope that image posting comes soon. I’m too lazy to upload pics for now. Anyone have any hacks or shortcuts?

Time to digest everything from Nostrica. Truly spectacular (un)conference that’s redeemed technology conferences/events for me.

Looking forward to potentially getting more involved and taking part in this movement.

Ah, the cliffhanger. I’ll bite :)

I also dig not having the ability to modify or delete messages. #[0] put it well: it shows our humanity, and gives us an opportunity to work through our mistakes.

Feedback for Nostrica 2023:

1. More preparation for presenters. Potentially pair tech focused folks with others from different backgrounds to practice presenting and messaging.

2. More interactive.

Maybe more small, decentralized 😏 groups for discussion. Potentially on different themes or questions.

Other than that, wow, so many amazing parts:

1. Incredibly diverse, open, and friendly attendees.

2. The river!

3. Delicious fresh food, with plenty of options.

4. A variety of topics and areas of interest.

We can ween ourselves off of air conditioning. Seems both more serving for our bodies and for the environment.

“Stop asking for permission and just do it.”

^ Yes. Dig situations and systems where I can do that.

…doreazyyy told me. 🤷‍♂️

To paraphrase Groucho Marx: I do not want to take part in any club that would have me as a member.

Love. This.

I dig the idea that I can most benefit from isolated meditation when I do not think I have time to meditate.

Nostrica ecstatic dance last night amazed me. Such a fun way to decompress. Also, some of the most incredible dancers I’ve ever seen.

Hahaha. How do you attach pictures to posts?
