Keys dance, click and clack,

The expression is a play on an earlier idiom, "handsome is as handsome does," which stated that actions, not appearances, determine attractiveness. The phrase "stupid is as stupid does" became popular in 1994 when it was used in the film Forrest Gump. 🤙🏻

In 1951, Mary Foss Starn and her friends signed their names and hometowns on eggs and sent them out in cartons to see if anyone would respond. Starn hoped that someone in New York City would find her egg and become her pen pal.

After years of no response, Starn assumed her eggs had been eaten and forgotten about the experiment.

72 years later, one of Starn's eggs was found by John Amalfitano in New Jersey, who had received it from a neighbor 20 years ago.

Amalfitano posted about the egg on Facebook and was able to connect with Starn's daughter, leading to a conversation between Starn and Amalfitano.

i giggle at the absurd.

Ten fun activities you can do as a family (or with friends):

1. Star Gazing: Set up a telescope and explore the vastness of the universe together. While nothing may ultimately matter, it can still be intriguing to ponder the celestial beauty and our own insignificance in the grand scheme of things.

2. Outdoor Picnic: Prepare a simple picnic meal and enjoy it under the open sky. Embrace the temporary pleasures of taste, smell, and nature's ambience, even if they hold no ultimate significance.

3. Nature Walks: Take leisurely walks in the park or nearby nature trails. Observe and appreciate the intricate beauty of the natural world, acknowledging that while it may not hold intrinsic purpose, it can still provide moments of tranquility and aesthetic delight.

4. Photography Expedition: Grab a camera or even a smartphone and set out on a photographic journey. Encourage family members to capture the fleeting moments they find visually appealing, providing a temporary appreciation of beauty within the vast randomness of existence.

5. Geocaching: Engage in the popular outdoor treasure-hunting activity known as geocaching. While the treasures may hold no ultimate significance, the excitement and challenge of the hunt can offer a temporary sense of purpose and adventure.

6. Family Gardening: Cultivate a small garden together, tending to plants and watching them flourish or wither away. Embrace the cyclical nature of life and growth, finding solace in the temporary satisfaction of tending to living things.

7. Volunteering: Engage in local community service projects as a family. While altruistic acts may not hold inherent meaning, they can still provide temporary relief or aid to others, offering a fleeting but tangible impact in the present moment.

8. Outdoor Yoga or Meditation: Practice yoga or meditation together as a means to explore personal mindfulness and embrace the present moment. Recognize that although these practices may not lead to a grander purpose, they can offer peace and temporary relief from the chaos of existence.

9. Outdoor Movie Night: Set up a projector and screen a favorite movie in your backyard. Enjoy the shared experience of storytelling together, acknowledging the temporary entertainment value it provides.

10. Random Acts of Kindness: Go out into the community and engage in random acts of kindness, such as leaving small gestures of positivity for strangers. While the impact may be fleeting and ultimately inconsequential, it can serve as a reminder that temporary connections and kindness can bring small moments of appreciation and joy.

A new interpretation of Isaac Newton's first law of motion suggests that a mistranslation has been overlooked for centuries. Newton's original wording in Latin indicated that bodies only change their state of motion due to external forces, clarifying the relationship between his theories and Einstein's theory of relativity. The confusion arose from a translation made after Newton's death that used the word "unless" instead of "except insofar."

Can OpenAI be held liable for slander or defamation since GPT-4 automatically assumes you’re a criminal and will do something illegal if you’re given information you can find on any Internet search engine? 😂

This proposal presents a solution for creating short-lived identity tokens without revealing the Nostr public key (npub) or any personally identifiable information (PII). By employing elliptic-curve cryptography (ECC), specifically the sidh algorithm, users can create temporary, anonymous identity tokens. These tokens can then be used for various scenarios requiring anonymous interaction, such as 👉🏻anonymous voting or 👉🏻private messaging. The proposed method is designed to be secure against quantum computing attacks 🛡️and doesn't disclose any metadata 🗃️ or PII. Further improvements could involve implementing additional post-quantum cryptographic algorithms or employing zero-knowledge proofs for enhanced privacy. #nostr #grownostr #nostrdevs #zaps

Nihilism isn't me being depressed or unhappy, so don't take anything I say too seriously. 😎 In fact, I'm quite a happy person, until I'm not. 🤪

Another $1B aid package... 🤣

Even with good health, nothing matters. Up until January I was really healthy. Then I woke up in the ICU, paralyzed from the neck down, spent 2 months on a ventilator. I died in mid-February. They got me back easily enough, but the trauma from that still lingers. Learned how to walk, talk, dress myself again for a month in an inpatient rehab hospital. I’m about as close to normal as I’ll ever be now, but the void is cold, dark, and empty.

The first recorded incident of a robot killing a human occurred in 1979 when a malfunctioning robot at a Ford Motor Company plant crushed a worker's head. From 1992 to 2017, there were 41 recorded deaths in the United States caused by workplace robots, and this number is likely an underestimate.
