I think Nostr eventually replace RSS and Email.

RSS is simple. JSON > XML as a dev.

Email is awful to build for and who wants email providers to be able to read all of their emails?

Encrypted DMs with long form content and a tag to indicate it as an “email” then the app having an email like frontend or client would already be much more superior. There could be a relay that doesn’t allow for querying of events either so then others can’t check who is receiving emails from who. Or better yet, run your own relay that others can’t query to send events to.

It would be a level up in privacy and it wouldn’t matter anymore about using a single provider like Gmail. With nostr ids, you could even change npubs to receive to if you needed to. Wouldn’t be able to decrypt without still having the secret, though.

Interesting to think about.
