I should have plenty of time. I have plenty of sats. But seeing as I don’t know what to do with time or money, I just keep doing what I’ve always done…people need me and are grateful…but the paycheck is awfully small compared to my sats stack.

Totally different sort of device. Think of it more in the category of Trezor/ledger but designed to work with ios/android out of the box.

The main feature is wallet recovery…it’s a multisig wallet where your bitkey has a key, the mobile app has a key, and their server has a key. Need ⅔ to spend. They store a copy of the mobile key encrypted to your device OS cloud account. Additionally, you can store encrypted copies of both bitkey key and mobile key with a trusted contact person…this lets you lose everything (bitkey and phone and cloud backup) and still recover (albeit with a security delay of 1 week, during which time you can cancel if you get the email/sms/push notifications of the recovery countdown).

It’s really well thought out.

On iOS I don’t see that option. Makes sense to use passcode/face ID though.

Bought $50 of bitcoin on coinbase; integration was super well done. Got my wife setup as a trusted backup person. Super easy and fast.

Having trouble getting it to see my electrum server inside a VM running umbrel, but that’s not relevant to 99% of users. But awesome that private electrum server is possible.

Anyone know if ne can use coldcard with iOS Blockstream green wallet? Being just a hodler, I rarely have need to create transactions and I’m only skilled at using my fully offline satellite node Linux box as a wallet (confusing overloading of the term “wallet”).

I’m trying to set a moderately techy friend up with a good, secure cold wallet and I’m trying to find the best software combo. He’s not the type to run core, electrum, sparrow, etc. He’s more a Blockstream green/jade kind of guy but he wants a high security long term solution.

Everyone makes a mistake when they first discover bitcoin. Most make the mistake of thinking they’re too late.

I made the opposite mistake. I knew I was early. Very early. So early that it might not work and thus only worth casual effort.

I could literally be a billionaire if I knew then what the average pleb knows now…but back then nobody understood what bitcoin was and we didn’t have the Saifs and Saylors to lay it out in concrete terms.

Bitcoin reveals all mistakes. While I regret mine, I have benefited from this simple rule: the best time to correct a mistake is as soon as the mistake is discovered.
