I know! And a good joke too.

I’m looking forward to being somewhere where there’s stuff others know better than me. Bitcoin has been a rather lonely journey in the places I’ve lived.

I ordered glow in the dark stars for my daughter’s ceiling from some guy in Australia about a decade ago. They were freaking amazing. Many brightness, size, and color levels. With a pattern / method to lay them out. I still have some somebwere…I wonder if he still sells them.

I’ve met some of the truly big minds in bitcoin. And being a physician, they were very polite in explaining what a complete idiot I was in a gentlemanly and scholarly way.

What I can tell you with very little doubt is that the smartest guys in the room knew eth was a stupid idea even when it was just a white paper.

Some people have the ability to see the end game for almost any dynamic system almost instantly. I’m not one of them, but they have much to teach the shitcoin world.

I did a preorder but unwisely added a second to the order at time of purchase. I fear it won’t be here in time for the halving party…I’m a few hours away and it’s not gonna be here until the day after…I’ll bring a mark 4 and nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m's new wallet gizmo. Two good devices with very different security models.

I look forward to learning about nostr…feels very much like the very early days of bitcoin, but growing so much faster.

Woohoo!

My coldcard Q is coming! If I get lucky it’ll be here early so I can bring it to nostr:npub1jwev660jrdrfeaw2u9sssv3v4jgsxqs32qmd5yhpgzlesg5j0gase4qha6 halving day party!

Kudos to nostr:npub1az9xj85cmxv8e9j9y80lvqp97crsqdu2fpu3srwthd99qfu9qsgstam8y8 et al for having the chutzpah to build what they could not buy and then figure out how to make it affordable to replicate for retail folks like me.

Exactly. It’s all fun and games until someone loses a leg. Which happens.

People mistake the intended usage of tannerite. It’s for long range shooting to help you know you hit your target without a spotter or metal silhouette

I love #arizona. Some dudes just set off 22 lbs of tannerite in the government land behind my house. It was shockingly loud. As overestimating how much tannerite is safe is not rare, I took a quick trip back in the truck to make sure everyone was ok, and when it was clear they were unharmed Americans having fun, I brought out 14 lbs more tannerite to shoot in smaller doses. As I’ve never used it before, and these guys survived shooting too much, I figured who better to learn how to use it from than these guys?

Anyhow, it was fun but one of the dudes was weird and kinda belligerent, so I had to take my toys and go home. But otherwise it was awesome. God Bless America, or at least Arizona :)

It takes my PC 45 seconds to “run the numbers” on bitcoin (bitcoin-cli gettxoutsetinfo).

Try that with gold.

There will be no great reset for the dollar.

Why? Because it’s a fiat system all the way down.

This means there’s a great reset happening slowly and continually…bitcoin is obviously far better, and it’s taken 15 years to only get this far…this will be a slow process. Slow enough most don’t benefit persons.

Best not to rely on anything electronic to maintain seed. Multisig is useful but complicated.

My advice: 24 word seed on metal. Keep at home. Have long pass phrase, part of which is on metal at reasonably secure location you control as far away from home as possible (work, bank, etc), and remaining part on metal or paper kept with multiple trusted third parties instructed to only ever give it to your spouse in person…preferably out of state.

The main goal is to make it take forever, but if your out of state contact knows to call police if you request passphrase instead of your wife, you have a sly way of raising alarm bells.
