It’s life, we’re all beasts who operate on survival mode. Friendships are contextual and temporary, nobody sticks around unless you have something to offer 😅

Thanks, catfish fat guy 🤪

Hope I’ll meet you at conferences this year.

It’s really great that you also have memories from such a young age, whenever I tell my family members stories from when I was really young they roll their eyes and assume I made it up or else just recount birthday pictures or whatever.

Have a wonderful day yourself and keep your good memory! The people we love are still with us as long as we remember the moments we spent together 🤩

(also, play Final Fantasy IX if you ever get the chance. The story is exactly about remembering, while also creating your own fate)

If you’re curious to learn more about Statechains, CoinSwaps, and how MercuryWallet works, then check out this interview with CommerceBlock CEO Nicholas Gregory 🤩

In the 2nd half of the interview, I even do an assisted initial setup of MercuryWallet, during which Nicholas provides explanations about how stuff works 🤯

It’s also my birthday, so watching this is both educational and offers me a nice gift. Also subscribe please, I got more good stuff coming 😎

Thank you, Ron! I've been... thunderstruck ⚡

Thank you, sir! And one beer for you too 🍺

Graze, Sophia! Unrelated note, but if I ever have a daughter I'm gonna call her Sophia. Not because of you, but because it means wisdom and I'm gonna work really hard to teach her stuff 🙃

So you run and you run to catch up with the Sun, but it's sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death 🙈

It’s my 31st birthday, yay. If you want to make my day better, then listen to an episode of the Bitcoin Takeover podcast and let me know what you think about it! 🥳

Well, either this or zap the hell out of me so I can spend it all on drinks 😂

My kind of freedom also implies that I have very few friends and spend most time alone. I like it because I can focus on my projects. But it can get depressing.

There are always tradeoffs and you can never have it all. But in hindsight, I’m happy because I have the greatest amount of freedom.

I initially wanted to become a university professor, so I needed the PhD. But there are no open positions, most professors are in their early 50s and won’t retire anytime soon, plus I hated my supervisor because no matter how hard I tried he would try to persuade me to write the thesis that he wanted (which is the same thesis as someone else before me). I lost my passion and gave up.

Maybe one day I’ll give it another go. But if you’re really good at what you do, universities can get you under a guest lecturer contract. So it’s a bit pointless given how there are ways to bypass the hierarchies. Might as well get good at what I do.
