I think I heard most of these .
What’s your secret to being so calm on your pod and in social media ?
The secret is remembering that all of this is software yet most people treat it like it’s some sort of sacred discovery 😂

What’s funny about the meme is that no super smart early bitcoiner uses non-open source devices like the Coldcard.
It’s just Rodolfo, his cronies, and a bunch of newbs who fell for the marketing.
Ask developers & OGs what they use: they will either say Bitcoin Core/Electrum/Mycelium or if they use hardware wallets at all it’s an old Trezor that’s 100% open source and still works a decade later (unlike Coldcards, which are unreliable and have a new model update every year).
In S15 E70 of the Bitcoin Takeover podcast, legendary Bitcoin developer Jeff Garzik also mentions his favorite scaling and privacy tech.

kind reminder that bitcoin was meant to be spent
even the coins that you own are called utxos: unspent transaction outputs
don’t get psyoped into never improving your life, especially if you’ve made satisfactory gains
our lives are short, don’t forget to enjoy your time
Thank you sir, hope you got something nice for yourself too!
Get inside one sometime, you will understand.
Did you listen to my recent interview with Jeff Garzik?

bought the lexus es 300h for 0.3 bitcoin
took it home for christmas, my family was in awe. couldn’t believe that the guy who used to live in mom’s basement can now afford this kind of car
been hodling for almost 8 years, when i started 0.3 btc was around $850
patience pays off

a lot of people wished me happy holidays
i purposely and explicitly wished them back a merry christmas
(in romania, a country that’s 90%+ christian)
i’ve never lost a single coin from a hot wallet
but i’ve lost coins doing more sophisticated setups involving nodes, hardware wallets, and advanced backup systems
edge wallet unlocks with your phone pin/apple face id
there’s a lesson to be learned here about simplicity
i only have 1 podcast episode left to publish this year and i want to save it for january 3rd – when the bitcoin network turns 16 😱
until then, who else would you like to hear on the show?

it’s been over a decade since the sidechain whitepaper got published
today, bitcoin only has a federation (liquid) and a sidechain with a trusted setup that uses hsm’s (rootstock).
no proper two-way peg sidechain, only compromises
can we at least get bip 300?
Sure, there’s a lot of useful stuff. Monero and Zcash are leading the way.
Litecoin added MWEB for extra privacy + scalability
Smaller projects are experimenting with different types of cryptography
It’s an exciting world out there!
