I like those signs better when they include miles to a destination. 🤣

nostr:npub1sjykae4gw0ms8634h9v4elpc90csass0e8392jjsscaqepqy20rqqx087h The mileages on the two lower ones would be increasingly concerning. 😂

nostr:npub1xdl9sjpscw9l30tx2tytqjrrqy932pvc73kdtlqz05gkse2jzrjql67ky5 I’m surprised too. Lost of sand if you hike around the mountain. Thankfully, the sand ended pretty quickly on my route.

S. of Mt Hood PCT Backpacking: Day 2

Decided to take some side quests today and explore the lakes. Little Crater Lake was 🤯 and had crystal clear water that looked blue. Hiked around Timothy Lake. So many campgrounds and sites, including FS disbursed camping on the back side of the lake. The lake is much bigger than I expected. Ended with 25 miles.

nostr:npub1c5cejn3aa8l9lkye9vflejad6gwgw59wk3hmzsxdhh36mh807wcqdd644a glad you are OK Andrew. I've had a couple of bad ones. It all happens so fast in reality but at the time the falling seems to be slowed down. The falling sensation itself I can recall clearly and in slow motion. Do you have that same recollection?

nostr:npub1y86tvd739depuqr33qupd5ejj84cqpepa39q705h3vyd8fufu89qkfc7j6 Thanks! Yeah, the fall itself is all that I remember.

nostr:npub1yf8gcfhtctnnn5z9ttzelrv6wv5nnhee3n8mgnfas0zfcaql5xcsnfffmg Makes complete sense. I’m mostly iPhone only when not working. Agree Macs are not the value pick. Though my main one is 8 years old now and I have an 11 year old Mac mini server still working, even with the original drives. I won’t cry if I lose all the data on it and the equally aged Drobo backing it up.

nostr:npub1drukx60dz9w7rwycs4cqu560tzyjshdrglf4rl0tujksdvz64ftqgvmmr6 I think that’s where i’m at. It’s partly i’m still injured from a fall last weekend too. There are lots of other places I haven’t been yet.

nostr:npub16r2m3es675q6w3rh6a8lavkygy0c958gqftdgjese76725gcg3usxhel76 Didn’t see the smoke until I got back in the valley, it was great. There was actually a backpack sitting on Knife’s Edge with no one around. But I didn’t look too closely, I was just trying to get back to safety. 😀

nostr:npub1nn6km9u90l84gwf30whxrh9egkqcgk777ncr5hw2casx2fuuv4jqwv5ez6 Thanks! Haha I wasn’t super fazed by it at the time actually because the trail was already terrifying.

nostr:npub1kfm2x64gz644c26zc6ycq6fcmg3f8swej9jtnuch5fay0tsam9zqvf50zh I was watching large wasps violently murder flies between my tent and rain fly this weekend. It was brutal. They would immediately pull off the legs and wings and then chuck the carcass in the pile when done with it.
