And, as always, please remember that indie musicians live and die by your clicks and listens, and eventually by your monetary support. Please open your ears for anything that looks intriguing and your wallet for anything that fulfills that promise!

Halloween is just around the corner, so get ready for the season by immersing yourself in some Psychedelic Ghost Stories. 10 monster-infested tracks -- full of ghosts, zombies, killer robots and time-traveling transhuman uberbeings -- built from weird sounds and relentless rhythms.

If you care about music, at all, please consider spending as much at Bandcamp (or another equitable music platform) today as you do on streaming services
Your streaming dollars only support streaming executives and big record companies. Bandcamp $$$ go into artists' pockets

I'd like to follow/be mutuals with every #musician and #MusicFan on Mastodon, and I bet I don't even have 10% of y'all in my follow list yet! Let's start to fix that!
Reasons for music fans to follow me:
1) I am mutuals with a HUGE number of musicians, and I promote the fuck out of them, so you'll be exposed to lots of new music
2) I write about almost two dozen of these artists every month, giving you some insight into what they make and why you might like it
3) All the cool kids do it
Let's check out some OPM (Other People's Music)! Here's the digest thread of my weekly blog covering independently released #music from around the Fediverse and beyond! This week we have some ambient/downtempo, a bit of Americana, dark instrumental synth pop, krautrock-meets-noise and our first ever jazz submission!
This thread features compressed versions of the coverage from this post:
https://www.etherdiver.com/2024/06/21/opm-summer-solstice-edition/
So if you're intrigued but want to read more, that's the place!
Please boost!
Oh, and not that anyone really cares but in case you're wondering, I won't be voting in the competition. For one, I don't like treating music competitively (no shade, I know it's all in fun, just not my thing) and for another, I don't think I can listen to all 72 entries, which I'd want to do if I was going to single out 3 as the best/my favorite.
You're all my favorite. Everyone did great, nice job!
If you're a mutual who submitted a track to Fedivision and I missed it, I sincerely apologize. I went thru the list twice but artist names don't always match y'all's @'s that closely, and I have almost 2k mutuals so there's a decent chance I overlooked an entry or two. If that's the case, and you mention it kindly to me (either in response to this thread or in a DM) I will make it up to you by fast tracking you for future OPM coverage (and apologizing profusely 😅).
Here's a link to the blog if you need it:

You can go to any post, scroll to the bottom, and find the newsletter sign up if that's easier/so you won't forget. Or add my RSS feed to your reader:
Just finished listening to and writing impressions of all 16 #Fedivision entries from my mutuals (apologies if I missed someone!) and two things leap to mind:
1) Love the variety of tracks overall, and how distinctive and non commercial all the tracks I heard were.
2) Those of you writing about all 70+ tracks are hardcore! I am wrung out covering less than a quarter of the total!
Anyway, look for the post first thing tomorrow morning at mt blog, or in your email inbox if you're subscribed!
Who's got some music they'd like to have heard and written about? Need a few good tracks for this week's write-up. Send me links to what you're currently promoting!

nostr:npub1hd2rzs04wqq4pqavyr9dnmczg80nzgwg0p73eu3y63ck3gf4ejwsz2zm0u I actually think that it is easier to get people to pay attention to your music if you don't give it away. People seem to have a hard time valuing things they get for free ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's #BandcampFriday, where BC waives their fees from sales so artists get all the $$$. If you consider yourself a music fan, I'm challenging you to spend AT LEAST as much today at Bandcamp as you spend every month on music streaming services, OR MORE.
