So I've been teasing that we'll be writing a book. Alhamdulilah we're about half way done with a first draft. Probably won't be finished until next year inshaAllah.
So in general I'm planning to structure the book in this way:
1. Muslim Primer on Economics (you can read this chapter here: https://bitcoinmajlis.org/chapter-1-a-muslims-primer-on-economics/ )
2. Low Time Preference Islamic Civilization
3. Grokking Riba
4. A History of Money, Usury, and Banking
5. The Riba is in the Money
6. The Consequences of Riba Money
7. Attempted Solutions to the Riba money problem
8. Bitcoin, the anti-Riba money
9. Bitcoin, not crypto
10. Debunking Fiat Fatwas
11. Making Financial Hijra
May Allaah bless and guide your endeavour and grant sincerity.
Just saw that you're the developer of Nitropage! I'm interested if it can be easy to install and run locally?
I mean easy for moderately techsavvy people, people with contribuor or editor role in Wordpress.
Files can then be uploaded via FTP etc.
Some good points but calling things malware that aren't technically malware (even if they're privacy invasive) detracts from your argument.
The real issue if, I understood correctly, appears to be local SSG vs online hosted CMS, right?
The solution for most people I think can be that SSGs and similar tools are made easier to use, like WordPress.
I like projects like #Publii and #BuhoCMS aim to do this butthety need adoption and support.
What about for ecommerce, is there a better #FOSS alternative to #Wordpress + #Woocommerce do you think?
Thanks.
Agreed. However most websites actually might perform better and be more secure as static sites?
I think Wordpress can be great for those who need it but people should first see if a static locally developed site can meet their needs.
Agreed. There's also #Publii and #BuhoCMS, a local frontend for Hugo.
I guess it's great that #Nostr isn't a social platform then.
Doesn't have to be only one reason. Can be a mix of legitimate and illegitimate concerns.
It's also the only third party platform where the official accounts of the #Palestinian armed resistance have not been completely banned.
Over half a million members according to latest stats.
#غزة #فلسطين
#gaza #palestine #hamas #qassam
Agreed but it's a good way to transition people to FOSS alternatives gradually...
Not replacing dns sorry my mistake but root servers

We made the decision not to publicly promote the launch of our campaign earlier this year due to the Gaza crisis as they are most deserving of your funding. However, some backers have claimed the 'social media shoutout' tier which requires public acknowledgement.
We can't blame the protocol for server software or client apps. It's an open protocol so people are free to make their own apps. There's the Conduit matrix server software for example developed by people outside the Matrix Foundation. Does it also have the same issue as Synapse?
Best XMPP & Matrix Clients!!!
Matrix,
A lot of people use Element,
And there's a new ElementX being rolled out for Matrix 2.0 that has speed benefits.
But my personal favorite is FluffyChat, which allows for multiple accounts at once and has less sync issues with encryption keys on VMs.
Another decent choice is Nheko which has a slick interface.

With XMPP it depends a lot on your OS.
If you’re using Linux,
Then Dino. But Gajim is a 2nd option.
Gajim audio calls work for Linux only, and NOT on Windows.
If you’re using Android,
Monocles has good texting sync with Linux Dino.
But Cheogram is excellent on it’s own.
If you’re using Windows,
Gajim is great for texts, but can’t do audio call for Windows. You have two audio call options:
Option 1) Mov.im in a Web browser, the pro is this is easy. The con is they see your password because it’s in a browser.
Option 2) Unofficial release of Dino for Windows, which I haven’t personally tried and may have problems:
https://github.com/LAGonauta/dino/releases
If you’re using iPhone,
You have two choices
Option 1) Snikket’s iOS app,
Option 2) Siskin, which Snikket is based on,
If you’re using Apple/Mac computers,
Your 2 choices are:
Option 1) the same mov.im in a browser as Windows
Option 2) Beagle.im

I love XMPP but the lack of a standard fully featured client available for all major platforms is the reason it can be a little challenging to onboard normies, so I end up recommending Matrix instead in only 2 short & simple steps that works regardless of their OS:
1. Install app:
2. Connect: https://matrix.to/#/@islamicaudiobooks:matrix.org
I've stopped watching altogether unless it's tutorials. Listening saves a lot of time, especially if they're available as podcasts or synced to Odysee which provides an RSS feed.
Wow interesting change of mind! So which server software are you using, Synapse, Conduit or something else? I'm keeping an eueeon Conduit as it seems promising for lightweight setups.
Yes agreed it's not ideal just a temporary learning stage before going full sovereign, sort of like transitioning to FOSS while on Windows or Mac before switching to Linux a year later. I guess the trick is not to become complacent in the transitionary stage.
