not really
considering zapvertisements are not very effective in practice and the lack of any targeting, and minimum zap amounts, it becomes very ineffective
though actually one great part about this protocol is anyone can do precise targeting themselves
Literally thought of this, this morning. I believe its something similar to what nostr:nprofile1qqs99d9qw67th0wr5xh05de4s9k0wjvnkxudkgptq8yg83vtulad30gpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumrpdejqz9thwden5te0dp5hxapwdehhxarj9ekxzmnyqyv8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehw6r9wfjjucm0d5eechmk is building
My goal is a separate signer device (small USB token)
But yes, it can do the same thing
read the sentence again…
anyone attending TRUSTECH 2024?
Nostr.build.
The problem is costs add up very fast: a 100MB file viewed by 1k people becomes 100GB egress, which is $0.1 at best from certain providers. Then there’s CDNs for optimization, and also moderation work to filter out CP and other unwanted content (legal liability). Also, backups.
half assed rolling distro upgrades probably?
I use OpenSUSE which has btrfs snapshots with a separate /home, and had to roll back 2 months when I realized I accidentally fucked up the package manager
We can, just stop calling it even remotely private.
Honestly, the protocol has been going downhill for a while as people try to be as lazy as possible.
Relays instead of encryption. “Relays” that are shitty versions of normal APIs instead of DVMs. Relays instead of a proper community NIP.
AUTH is never a replacement for encryption

I will look into implementing this soon, most of the code should be ready. I’m eventually going to refactor it with a new DB anyway
