I asked ChatGPT to improve the banner image for fullPage.js.

I guess ChatGPT is not the tool for this?

I kind of owned myself in this one.

I quickly accepted the answer from cursor here and didn’t notice the negative missing from the refactor. Which is kind of the thing we’re all scared about with AI writing your code

The reality of Brazil banning X:

If you want to communicate with people in Brazil, on a social network, you need to use something other than X.

I revived my Bluesky usage + using Threads more, as devs in Brazil are on both, given they cannot access X.

(And setup cross-posting)

We live in an expanding space-time continuum. Those are fancy words to say that space and time are not the separate concepts we perceive them to be; but rather are aspects of the same thing.

So, for instance, we are all traveling at the speed of light right now. However our velocity is through time, not space. This is a consequence of Einstein's special theory of relativity.

As we increase our velocity through space, our velocity through time decreases. If we could travel through space at the speed of light then our velocity through time would be zero.

One way to imagine this is an x-y graph with velocity through time on the vertical y axis, and velocity through space (one dimension of space) on the horizontal x axis. Considering only the first quadrant (upper-right) of this diagram, we draw the first quarter of a circle. The radius of that circle is the velocity c -- the speed of light.

The radius that points upwards along the time axis represents an object that is not moving through space, but is moving through time at c. The radius that points horizontally to the right along the space axis represents an object (a photon say) that is traveling at c through space and is not traveling through time at all.

Every object in our universe must exist at some point on that circle. And every such object forms an angle between that point, the origin, and the x axis.

Every object in our universe has a velocity through space that is the cosine of that angle, and a velocity through time that is the sin of that angle. Therefore every object is moving through space-time at c.

Hey! I’ve got a really great idea. Get this.

First, let’s demoralize and defund the police nationwide reducing their numbers to the point of being ineffective.

Then let’s throw the southern border wide open so that Venezuelan gangs and Islamic terrorists can pour, unimpeded, into the country.

Then, let’s make sure the cities elect radical prosecutors who will refuse to charge and hold criminals; making sure that those gang members and terrorists stay on the streets.

Oh yeah, and then let’s make sure the city legislators declare their cities to be sanctuaries that refuse to turn criminal illegal immigrants over to ICE for deportation.

Sound like a plan?

You _know_ you're going to have to learn Clojure, don't you? It's inevitable. So you might as well get started now.

Here are two resources that will help you. They're both easy, and fun.

If someone would have told me a year ago that 2 of the 3 most listened to technology podcasts invite a running presidential candidate as a guest so they can campaign: I would have not believed it.

So interesting to see podcasts starting off as tech become much more political.

i've been beta testing the replit agent and it's ! have built a couple apps with one prompt that used to take many copy/pastes. def worth a try!

>ask for thing

>get and approve tasklist

>help check work along the way

>get working replit repo

can do simple multi-file apps well (not too complicated), with debug/fix built in - which is more than anthropic artifacts, and it's already in a repo you can build on top of.

We didn't build UploadThing because Next.js devs are dumb. We built it because I had been dealing with all of S3's quirks for over 5 years.

I was begging for alternatives before I even tried Next
