people will be complaining about the "energy waste" in the current AI craze after hauling their butts around in 3-ton metal cages for decades, a lifestyle that is enabled by paving half the planet in tar.
But hey, if my metal box is an EV, I can at least pretend to be part of the solution while doing nothing, partially paid for by other people's money.

There is this talk on the internet that in our #dreams we never use our #tech #gadgets... which reminds me that once I had a dream in which I played #StarCraft in a room by moving siege tanks by hand on the furniture.
A few day back I also dreamed of using Stable Diffusion on paper... I would draw something by hand using a penci, and the drawing would refine itself the way SD would do it.
So I had dreams of doing tech stuff, but never on the computer on the phone. WTH?

I just heard a brand new argument for using #twitter (eggs / axe, whatever it is called now).
it goes like this: twitter is not making any profits, but it costs money to run. so everyone who actually uses the service, is making #Musk poorer.
While it is an enticing line of argument, my mental health is worth much more for me than to make Elmo infinitesimally less rich, when he can burn a lot of his own wealth without my sacrifices.
Now that I familiarized myself a bit with Ardour and pipewire, I managed to get a nice little set up here for me to work on some music.
The abundance of great resources on sound design and mixing is just mind boggling, and the fact that I can practice this art in front of a PC at home, running fee software is something really cool, that people born after 2000 will probably never appreciate properly.
