Women have been socialized to be a 'good girl' and not impose on others. When we speak up, we are much more vulnerable to backlash. So we've been trained not to do it or have the confidence that it will work out in our favor.
Michigan and Minnesota have reforms that increase voter participation, fair representation, and direct democracy. In turn, both have seen feminist priorities thrive: reproductive care, green energy, paid family leave and protecting trans youth.
