Coinbase took 6 days to tell me my latest buy was available for trading. That seemed odd as well. It's always been instantaneous.
That incentivizes people to run and maintain relays as well.
I think Bitcoin gains more utility in a CBDC scenario. As the govt eliminates cash, that will increase demand for a cash replacement.
CBDC will likely start out great, widely accepted, with few downsides. But as acceptance becomes widespread, the govt will start using it as a mechanism of control. Just like the dollar (think sanctions). Just as big tech companies do--build the customer base, establish a monopoly, and squeeze for profit. Same idea, and it's inevitable.
When that happens, people will be looking for alternatives.
Can't complain. Getting a break from what's turning into a busy week. Catching up a bit on the banking meltdown.
I suspect modern health problems and cancer have far more to do with diet and exercise than electromagnetic radiation. My $0.02.
Digging some college Chemistry out of the back of my brain.. 2.4 GHz is the resonant frequency of the water molecule, meaning 100% of the energy is absorbed and converted to heat.
Put anything containing water into a microwave, and it heats up. Put anything without water, like paper, in a microwave, and nothing happens.
Other molecules have their own resonant frequencies. I remember reading an article about a pharma company using radio waves around 200 MHz to interfere with brain cancer growth. That 200 MHz frequency was just right to heat up some protien the cancer needed and prevent it from participating in the next reaction.
The vast majority of radio waves seem harmless, and too weak to cause much heating, but that makes you wonder.
There may still be hope for me yet. Light mode here.
Just finished reading. That adds a lot of historical perspective on govt buildings as public spaces.
Bought Bitcoin Friday evening.. Friends are loading up on SQQQ, HDGE, and RWM short positions. Let's roll!

That would be awesome.
Tonight's movie..
OKAY ! #music !!! I went into my rabbit hole and tried making some mixes of memorable songs from 1990-2000. The results are interesting, and probably a lot of fun.
The 90's - Volume I (with a few bonus tracks before and after the stated time period.)
I was originally aiming for 3 songs from each year, for a 3 volume set of the 90's - One song per year, per volume....
Then I got a little excited revisiting old tracks. So I may edge this out to 6 per, making a six volume playlist of 10 tracks across six volumes, if you were to figure it the old way and go for 78 minutes per CD...
Enjoy, this took me a few hours, and was a lot of fun to remember these...
If you're under 40 you probably haven't heard of most of this.

Great list. LMAO @ Afroman.
Problem:
Background data limits on iOS and aggressive background task killing on Android prevent Nostr clients from generating private and group chat notifications. Centralized apps, like Snapchat and Slack, get around this by utilizing the iOS/Android push notification services.
Solution:
Nostr client apps could register their npub with a service, paid with a few sats, capable of generating iOS and Android push notifications. The service would watch for private and group chat message types destined for that npub and generate a push message to the client telling it to wake up and retrieve the messages from the relays. The client's nsec key is never exposed, and the push service can be untrusted.
