The QR backup to end all QR backups is finally here! 🔥
No, this is not an exxageration. 😎
These backup plates were developed in cooperation with nostr:npub1fft97fnpje9w7rp7apaenjd9wvd23hv2sqexl94ydltlyplgvyaqug6sxp and are the result of our combined experience with backing up Seed-QRs into metal.
The goal was to deliver a premium product which is insanely durable, these plates are made from of 5.5mm thick (6mm border) Grade 7 Titanium which not only grants extreme impact resistant, but also makes them resistant to corrosion which makes these plates virtually indestructible. But it doesn't stop here. Countless revisions to the grid design and centering holes were made and tested, resulting in the best possible punching experience and eliminating the probability of errors or misplaced punch marks.
Each backup plate is delivered in a 3D-printed container which can be sealed with a zip tie or numbered security seal and serves as a tamper evident storage solution for your Titanium SeedQR. A small cutout in the printed container serves as a window through which the fingerprint can be viewed without opening the container.
The plates come in two grid sizes, more of the 25x25 will be in stock by next week, but we're already stocked up on 21x21s
Available as a single plate, pack of 3, or pack of 5 plates, these QR plates are the ultimate bridge between the digital and analog versions of your private keys.

I had a deal with my cafe/bar owner up north where I could buy one beer per visit with bitcoin over to a breez wallet I helped him set up (cause it had PoS mode but in retrospect wallet of Satoshi was a better idea)
He’s moved on since but certainly would enjoy having someone else local to send sats to.
That’s great man, not had too much luck finding people to accept bitcoin directly, other than on BTCMap and going out of my way to go there
I like the approach though of being fiscally responsible for the fiat obligations, having emergency funds etc covered then keeping savings in something that can’t be debased away from you
Does he accept bitcoin from you just on his own lightning wallet or does he go through something like Strike Business / Swiss Bitcoin Pay

No harm in selling it for costs, I do agree with you. On their FAQ they will immediately sell it which is what I don’t agree with, and the source of my initial comment. kinda is against the point of protecting them from devaluing currency
They plan to hold it long term if it works though, so fingers crossed
