Don’t be so pessimistic about the future. Even if the US doesn’t figure Bitcoin out right away, other jurisdictions will. I don’t believe the US will stop people from leaving, but exit taxes will suck… unless you lost your Bitcoin in some sort of boating or zapping accident
Over the past 50 years USD has fallen by 98%. If over the next 50 years that happens again, and bitcoin retains its purchasing power 1BTC = 1.3-1.4M
…that is with no adoption increase or increase to purchasing power
Bitcoin is pseudonymous, it is never clear who owns what. You can assume with reasonable accuracy who owns what if privacy tools were not well utilized. Give us Bitcoiners a week and we can through reasonable doubt to whether or not a senator or president owns bitcoin. We can use their personal information as entropy to create bitcoin addresses. Should some of these privacy invasive laws pass it will become clear quick that who owns what Bitcoin is a much more vague question then originally thought
It’s things like this that remind us why we need to have an international escape plan in place!
