It’s pretty inexcusable in a day and age when people can add an annual repeating reminder into their phones in about 20 seconds. We do this for birthdays and anniversaries of employment at our company and it’s nice. Everyone lights up the company group text when one comes up.

I have not. When I was on the department we just used a charged 1 1/2” line and a long piece of chain. It usually made a pretty good mess in peoples living rooms though. That was a long time ago.

My 19 year old daughter getting her first session of industrial suppression practice in tonight. Hopefully she hangs in there and gets her NFPA 1001 cert. She’s learned some good skills already as a volunteer and got a good summer job out of it this year.

Yes I should do mine too before the roof gets too treacherous. When I was on the fire department this time of year was always extra pay every month because the volume of chimney fires would really spike.

It’s fun. Solving it was one of the first things I used YouTube to learn, back before YouTube became horseshit. I too have since forgotten the algorithms and the order but still have them on a cheat sheet somewhere. It felt good to legitimately be able to hand it to someone to mix up and hand it back to them solved in a few minutes. I’m finding it’s something that once accomplished is hard to invest time in again. I’m sure one cold winter day I’ll pick it up again. If I find the sheet I used I’ll send a picture of it. It made it easy to memorize each algorithm.

Finally done. I’ll tarp this before the snow comes, but we are pretty solid for emergency heat between this, an 8x8 shed stacked to the ceiling and a Mr. Heater Little Buddy with four 25lb propane tanks and a 100lb propane tank.

GM degens. Have an awesome day 🤙🏽
