In playing with and exploring #bitcoin #node implementations again there seems to be two that offer the most bang for your bitcoin. Those two are nostr:nprofile1qqs9df4h2deu3aae83fmet5xmrlm4w5l9gdnsy3q2n7dklem7ezmwfcpg3mhxw309umxcetgdpukgumjw35xzemdd9envat4xe682cmwv3m85aehvd6kyur3dd58v7re0ymk5mmfda3ngdtdddehydr9v9jzummwd9hkutcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0f09vg9 or nostr:nprofile1qqsw5t3us9xs3gmclzjm37hvk2yy6pv9t96utjjttsj794hexc5x79qpzemhxw309a6k6cnjv4kzumr0vdskcw358q6rsqgswaen5te0w4kkyun9dsargwp58qrqp3nw .

The key differences I see are that Start9 offers better hardware and Umbrel offers more out of the box software "apps."

The pre-built Start9 is more expensive, but again, better hardware. Both offer a DIY guide with recommended hardware.

I like the sound of Start9 for my personal sovereign stack and Umbrel to play fast and loose with new projects and tools, or maybe run a meet up node.

Any critiques or feedback on this general opinion of the two? #asknostr

Trying out #MyNode instead of #Umbrel. Anyone care to share thoughts?

Hedonic adaptation 🤔

It turned out pretty solid! I'll probably add some style to it in the future too 😎

I used scrap 1/2" plywood from the house for the primary backer. This is what I'll drill to the studs. Then I cut small 3" strips out of the remaining plywood to do two things:

A. Able to use 1" vs 1/2" screws to fasten peg board for more weight.

B. Raised the peg board off the backer more allowing 1 1/2" of space behind it for air flow, pulling wire, additional support, etc.

Overall only had to buy the two pieces of peg board. Everything else is scrap and materials I already had.

Yup, shouldn't be a problem here. I'm most likely going to start with peg board and zip ties. Seems to be cheapest entry route, but not exactly what I want.

I'm looking for inspiration on how to organize and set up my "tech closet." I want to be organized and take up less of the closet shelf space, ideally wall mounted?

I'd like to include, modem, router, UPS, switch, two NUCs and two nodes with space to grow.

Any thoughts, photos, etc?

Trying out my first Audio Book today.

Made me think, is there a NOSTR client for this?
