I’d test the water to find out what’s in it, most filters don’t remove heavy metals. The quality of the water depends on the quality of the air. Stuff in the air lands on the cooling coils and the condensation pulls it off.
It’s a cool idea though! Just be sure you know what you have when you use it.

I got out shooting today! I tested my hastily worked up (but carefully made) 6.5 Creed handloads and I am delighted with the results. I didn’t get to send that many down range but the two careful groups (circled in red) are encouraging. The middle group started strong (the three rounds by the orange circle) but the rain started pouring and visibility went down for the last two, but even with those “flyers” the group is not much more than a minute (minute or minute of angle/MOA ≈ 1”@100 yards) the second group was even better, well under a minute. The second group’s bullet holes look goofy and looks taller than it is because the rain soaked the cardboard and it started to sag backwards but the group is 1.2 inches as pictured which is 0.86 MOA! If you’re just reading for fun, a gun that shoots 1 MOA is shooting very well.
Two 5 round groups aren’t statistically significant but show this load and gun may shoot very well. I’m hopeful my hunting loads will perform roughly as well as this batch.
These groups were shot prone, off a bipod, with a sand sock, and without a time limit. My group size will open up significantly as I shoot from other positions but that means the gun is more accurate than I am AND if I need to take a dead-nuts shot, proned out then I’m shooting a system that can do it.

I love sharing information I’ve found. I have to own up front that part of my preference for the 308 is not rational. I just like it. It’s been around for a good while with wide adoption so you can get good loaded ammo and good components. There are also lots of ammo options. I like the weight and size of the 30 cal bullets. It is not punishing to shoot and pretty economical compared to bigger cartridges, though that only matters if you shoot it. 308 doesn’t burn out barrels like 6.5 Creed or really most other cartridges. And it will handle any game in North America. There are some thoughts for you. 😉
I’m very impressed with the Tikka T3x. I don’t understand how they are getting this much performance out the door for as little as they cost. I was shooting sub minute out to almost a 140 yards today. Good barrels, nice triggers, decent mags. I need an adjustable cheek piece to shoot my best with them but there are lots of ways to solve that problem.
I’m a fan of the 308’s versatility but the 6.5 Creedmoor is growing on me.
