#Nostr vs. Lens
#Relays vs NFT
Lens?
#1. 什么是Relay(中继器)? 你知道“Nostr”代表“Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays”,所以中继就像谷歌这样的web2公司的服务器,用来保存和传输我们的数据。

Some personal summary about “relays” ,for new users of Nostr:
#1-What is a relay? You know “Nostr” stands for “Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays”,so a relay is just like a server the web2 company such as Google using to save and transmit our data. The difference is with Nostr you can choose which relay to use or not to use, and anyone can run a relay, while you can just rely on the official server with Google.
#2-It’s not that the more relays you add, the better. It depends. More relays would cost more of your data and power of the cell phone, simply to understand. However, if you aim to be an influencer and try to podcast your posts to a lot of people, you can add as many relays as you can until you get a bad use experience.
#3-The option to relays makes Nostr a censorship-resistant global "social" network. On the other hand, a relay also has the option to transmit your message or not. They can have their custom rules. This makes it doable to filter out spam and porn via a relay with special censorship criteria. Don’t worry. If you prefer porn, you can go hunt for private relays that offer porn instead of being blasted with it in day to day relays. Therefore various paid relays may be a big business in the future.
#4-Right now, when one of your following posts to relays you don't subscribe to, then their content is effectively nonexistent. You need to check the relays of your following regularly and add one of them to yours, so that you can view the content . However, you can still follow someone even if you don’t share a relay. I don’t know much about this issue, someone guessed it is since you share some friends or social chain, making sense.
#5-Think twice before you delete a relay, or you may lose some following or followers.
All above I learned here, thanks to content creators like @Cleus and @xinxingduan. There may be mistakes in my summary, and corrections are welcome.
For new users here, you feel bothered in the global channel, but you have not many posts to read in your timeline. What Should you do? My advice: 1. Try to follow many people you know or not know; 2. Try to post more of your thoughts, so that those with the same ideas can find you; 3. Block all the spam, robots and stupid ones once you see; 4. Get involved in more interesting discussions. 5. Keep an open mind and an open mouth. If a smart guy keep silence, then a stupid guy will take double rooms of speech😂
A hopeless world-weariness permeates the modern city. A group of unmarried and childless people, they are addicted to modern love fairy tales instead of pursuing true love. They laugh at those who have vulgar family life, but they don't know that it takes more courage and wisdom to run a marriage, let alone how to give love instead of to take. These men and women pack their physiological needs with exquisite consumerism. They ridicule those who bear children just like animals breeding offspring, but they don't know that raising human cubs is the greatest challenge against human nature. It is a harder but meaningful life that parents always have to put their children's needs before their own while they are rewarded
the great joy of being with children. For people who have lost hope for the future, the pursuit of meaning has lost its meaning, and they can only enjoy the happiness of physical comfort and entertainment until death.
Although Damus is full of rubbish, it excites me . The last time I got this feeling was the first time I used FB, the first time I used Twitter , and the first time I used TikTok. People are here looking for new relationships, looking for new wealth, looking for customers , even looking for sexual partners, just as we did when we first came into contact with FB. This is the release of the most primitive social desire, and it is also the core test that a social product must pass.
