I appreciate choice. I respect every amount, even zero.

It's just a sentiment I have. I think this amount is balanced for me, but I might change my mind. I appreciate everyone finding their own balance. I also appreciate comments in stead of zaps. Setting a default amount is kind of strange but it solves for the hassle and subjectivity when determining a custom amount per zap. Which I will still do, but not often.

I've set my default zap amount to ⚡️541 as an experiment.

I will zap whatever I appreciate, effectively ignoring the 'like' option.

I love the sentiment. It's like saying thank you for saying thank you. It's great to have the ability to show gratitude better. There shouldn't be a limit to gratitude. How gratitude is expressed should be a freedom. But that also means it should be a freedom both ways, how it is expressed and when it is expressed.
