really bad take. because this implies desire to have immutable thing. but nostr doesnt provide such thing. you cant rely on on relays not lying to you. i mean how many clients verify signatures.

and even if they did, relays can also NOT SHOW you some stuff. not even lying per se. they can just not show edits

I can now tell you all: OpenTimestamps did in fact have a small role in the US election! I don't know the full details. But apparently it was used to timestamp election data in Screven County, Georgia; possibly others too.

We’ll need Open Timestamps for Kenyan Elections in 2027.

Back in 2022 we apparently ‘digitized’ our elections but when disputes arose the lawyers couldn’t prove fraud cos they aren’t technical.

Lawyers kept insisting open the ‘servers’ even though it would take years to audit the code & data.

Like in the physical world, newspapers don’t get edited once they’re published & distributed.

That’s a huge incentive, to publish ‘The Truth’ unlike Digital Newspapers who ‘edit’ out lies with zero consequences.

Same here! Trump 2016 was so hard to take. By 2018 I had however seen the shift that we had all missed. Trump 2024 is just a rubber stamp on a paradigm shift.
