Social media preys on the main sins:

Pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth.

There’s certainly greed here, but it’s niche and nerdy. Not exactly viral stuff.

There’s little to no rage bait.

It’s almost as if people are paid to be as proactive as possible on X, and their life in default isn’t nearly as rage baity as they make it out to be.

But there’s also no reason to use this as the town square. It’s not particularly organized, it doesn’t have a community outside of BTC, it’s hard to access and difficult to understand.

I still have hope, just not sure when it sparks.

When popular online services for betting & AI implemented "Crypto payments", they all chose Coinbase Wallet, Metamask & 100 web3 shitcoin wallets, with a clear bitcoin and lightning absence, I had to admit that even though we won the SoV battle we are losing the MoE war, despite having better UX and instant settled transactions.

I'm surrounded by merchants that accept lightning outright, so I realize that I might be a special case.

You have way too many relays. You just need a handful really. 2 or so to read from - with good ping (see relay.watch - I think), and a few to write to.

Cool! I did a quick test. Some feedback:

- Being able to set shipping options (e.g. local shipping - free, international shipping - X sats)

- Inventory amount should be on product variation level, not on the product level

- Promo codes seem to not work at the moment - I get "inactive" when I create one. It would be cool if they are optionally also affiliate codes so that the person sharing their code also gets paid to a lightning address (this could possibly be done manually for now - but would be cool to somehow account for it)

- Email notifications would be cool (both to the store owner and a confirmation email to the customer, if they provide an email)

We just need to tweak the UI/user perception for what these NWC logins are for... In the sense that you can create budgets and give to service providers and it will be fine.

good information, I setup BTCPay server so I could get my own lighting addess, I was having a few issues with it so I went back to wallet of Satoshi. I fixed the issue so I might go back to BTCPay server. Wallet of satoshi is really easy tho and reliable.

Ive never tired Alby but I heard it cost money and I'm not actually making money here or anywhere, I'm pretty much just zapping notes so it doesn't make sense for me to buy a subscription. I find other people are in the same boat and that's why they moved away from Alby.

I think some of these Bitcoin companies are trying to hook Bitcoiners into using their products for free then eventually going paid but Bitcoiners are not making money or have an actual business that makes them money so it makes no sense for us to get a subscription.

In fact running BTCPay server is costing me money because I have to pay for a server every month. Almost everyone wants me to buy a subscription everywhere. I can't afford all those subscriptions it adds up too fast.

So yes. It's better we setup our own lightning sever to save money. Good tutorial. by the way you zap wasn't working months ago because I tired to zap you many times so what you are using now is finally working more reliable.

This second method is what I’m using to implement payment for an e-commerce website. Not too much of an issue, but it would be nice if the customer could see the description (e.g. “Order #21shss”) when paying the invoice.

how do you associate the list_transaction output with a zap so you can display the zap in the tx history?

Does bolt12 work with all wallet backends or just the built-in LDK node?

Whats required for this? I just updated on my Start9 and dont see the Bolt12 button.

As someone who's been away from nostr for about a year now. It's striking how well suited Nostr's identity layer is for the Agent<>MCP communication layer. Are there any cool projects exploring this that I should check out?
