Stay humble, earn sats. ⚡️

As national fiat currencies tumble expect more repression to use them in the future.

This will be the same playbook against bitcoin.

Zambia might ban foreign currencies in local transactions.

When I traveled to Zimbabwe and Botswana the first time in 2020 I knew only one Bitcoin initiative on the whole continent. It was Alakanani Itireleng‘s Satoshi Centre in Gaborone. There might have been some others as the continent is huge. But it guess it was only a handful.

In 2022 we started nostr:npub1fqqtc58rx9mslpydp9849pmlh4x8f5m8js399aqanlqjg6v6x9lq5qqzch Bitcoin for Fairness #Zambia, initiated what later became Bitcoin Reach in #Zimbabwe and worked with nostr:npub1zkr064avsxmxzaasppamps86ge0npwvft9yu3ymgxmk9umx3xyeq9sk6ec in #SouthAfrica.

Now there are:

118 Total Bitcoin organizations in 18 African countries.

17 new orgs added in Q2 (+16%)

2 new countries with Bitcoin activity: Tanzania and Malawi

70% of Africa's population are under the age of 30

Many African countries are authoritarian led and at the same time highly indebted > expect more protests and uprising from the youth in the coming years.

Also works nicely with NWC 👍🏻

Ah! I didn’t assume that adding a simple icon would add a link to open the wallet. Thanks, it works.

I assume that has happened several times already as I have been onboarding a lot of people. Maybe they take something away from it, being kind for instance.

I know, but this is not the point. Point is it’s light KYC and next step will be full KYC. I want privacy else I can stick to the traditional system.

On the other hand iOS is more secure than Android. I use both, everything has tradeoffs.

For anyone on iOS:

To zap someone on nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg you need to enter personal information…I won’t do this. I heard it’s because Primal uses Strike(?)

There is no possibility to switch to another wallet.

To zap someone on nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 you can select your favorite wallet, but the zap symbol is missing, so you can’t zap. There is a working workaround, which I just tried.

A good while ago, Apple denied new Damus versions until zaps were removed from notes. There is a slight roundabout way to activate it though: https://damuszap.oxtr.dev. This is a script made by nostr:npub1k92qsr95jcumkpu6dffurkvwwycwa2euvx4fthv78ru7gqqz0nrs2ngfwd that reactivates the zap button on notes.

Cheers! It works!
